NZ Marquee Hire were so glad to be part of the dawn Matariki Event, Hautapu Ā-Motu at Orakei Marae. Matariki is such a great time to come together and the hosts and organisers, of Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei in central Tāmaki Makaurau created an amazing event.
In 2026 the theme was Matariki Herenga Waka, and the Iwi, in partnership with Manatū Taonga, welcomed manuhiri from near and far across Tāmaki and Aotearoa to Takaparawhau to share in the celebration of Matariki, and welcome the Māori new year together.
Our team installed two Deluxe Pavilion Marquees, each set up with theatre-style seating for 120 people in each marquee - and also two catering and dining marquees in place, as well as marquee spaces for media, the organisers and viewing areas.
We organised chairs, lighting (essential as the event started around 3am!), and a Prestige Twin Suite Loo with our party hire partners.
